Joe Thomas Weight Management: Diet Regimen, Workout, Prior to as well as After

Joe Thomas is kind of a legend in the world of American Football. In fact, he is a living legend. The former NFL player has set a lot of records and has won hundreds of thousands of hearts with his outstanding skills. Joe also holds the record for the longest streak of more than 10,000 consecutive snaps played

He has achieved a lot in his life and there’s a very great story behind it. Being the greatest offensive lineman takes a lot of effort. Especially the effort to stay fit and Joe wasn’t fit in his early years. But wherever there is passion there is a way.

He had a lot of a hard time dealing with the fluctuations in his weight. In his interview with Men’s Health, Joe described the situation in his early years, “When I stepped onto Campus at Wisconsin in July of my freshman year, I was 250. They were trying to move me to the offensive line. And 250 pounds wasn’t going to cut it”.

But Thomas was not having it and he started focusing on his fitness. Especially on his weight gain. And within months, by eating “a sandwich every 30 minutes on top of my three main meals a day”, Joe ended up increasing his weight to 325 pounds. By doing that, Thomas won the position he desired the most, offensive lineman.

Also Check: The basketball coach, Brad Underwood, has lost 50 pounds as well.

Thomas’ Recent Weight Loss

Joe’s fitness during his whole career is a legendary and well-known story that we will touch upon later. However, the thing that has shocked everyone is Joe’s recent drastic weight loss. After retirement, Thomas’ fans didn’t get a lot of seeing him.

So, when they saw Thomas’ new photo, which was circulating on the internet, their shocking reaction totally made sense. Joe has lost 50 pounds and is still working on his weight loss. So, the question is how did he do that? And we understand how much you guys want to know about his sudden weight loss. So, let’s dig in.

Joe Thomas’ Weight Loss Journey

Before we discuss how did he do that, another tempting question is why did he do that. Well, after retirement, Joe didn’t get to move much. Sure he was hitting the gym and doing workouts but the weight he had gained to play games wasn’t required anymore and it was becoming a kind of liability.

It was not only slowing Joe down but was also becoming a threat to his health. Joe’s irritation with his weight is summed up in his following statement, “Towards the end, I couldn’t wait until I was done playing and could lose weight and move around and feel better and go shoot hoops with my buddies again. I wanted to be the weight I was in high school: 250 pounds”.

So after answering the question of ‘why’, now let’s turn to the question of ‘how’. Thomas lost weight by changing his lifestyle radically. He changed almost every previous habit. Though his main focus was on his eating habits because that’s where the problem lay.

Besides his eating habits, Joe also started giving more attention and time to his workout routine. These two important habits combined helped him in getting over the growing weight. Here are the details:

Joe’s Diet Plan

First of all, Joe stopped consuming sugar. Because before starting his weight loss journey, he was consuming a lot of sugar and became addicted to it. Besides the love of sugar, Thomas also had the habit of overeating. Whenever he set to eat, he didn’t know where to stop.

Here’s how he, himself, described the situation, “You’re just eating until you feel sick at every meal. And that’s not healthy long term“. So, in order to cope with this problem, he started tracking things. Joe would keep the record of everything he ate.

For this purpose, he took the help of a mobile application, MyPlate Calorie Counter. The app is quite simple to use. All you have to do is input the name and amount of food you ate and the app will tell you how many calories did you eat. The information will accumulate throughout the day and at the end of the day, it will give you the whole report.

After using the app for a few days, Joe realized that he was consuming a very unhealthy amount of sugar and started working on it. Thomas not only succeeded in getting rid of sugar consumption he also gave up every kind of oily food.

He started fasting. “For me, fasting has the primary benefit of eliminating breakfast, which for me was 800-1,000 calories”, Joe explained his experience. In this way, Joe reduced the calories consumption and changed his diet plan from unhealthy to healthy.

Joe’s Workout Plan

Now, a diet plan without a workout plan might not be a good choice as burning calories is an important part of weight loss. Thomas followed a cardio workout routine. However, he had some problems with his joints. So, he did “low impact cardio”. “I fell in love with swimming and biking. Low impact cardio is best because I’m a bigger guy”, Thomas told the interviewer.

Along with cardio, Joe also practices Yoga. It helps him in achieving peace of mind and is a low-impact exercise as well. Though it does not save him from being made fun of by his wife. “My wife laughs. She calls it  ‘Stretch’. But for me, it’s a great workout because I sweat heavily”, Joe said.

Before & After Weight Loss

I’m down to 255”, Joe said in excitement. He has come from 305 pounds to 255 pounds while losing 50 pounds. It is really an extraordinary thing.

Joe Intentionally Gained Weight During his Career

Joe loved his position and was ready to do anything to save it. The most important thing for him was stability in his weight. Thomas said that most players feared if they had gained weight because they would get fined but I had to keep up the weight.

Here is how did Joe explain his problem “It was stressful because if I went two hours without eating a Thanksgiving meal, I knew I was losing weight”, he continued, “So I was the guy that was always sitting at the table cleaning everybody else’s plates”.

This pretty much explains his later problem with weight gain. However, the good thing is that he succeeded in getting rid of extra pounds and bad eating habits.

The Scottish WWE star, Nikki Cross, has lost 20 pounds.

Final Words

Joe’s weight loss journey is a very good example for anyone who is looking forward to getting rid of unhealthy and extra pounds. He took the right action at the right time and changed his health for the good.

Are There Any Side Effects From Using African Mango Extract?

There are no known side effects associated with taking African mango extract. It is important to remember that this product can cause stomach upset and diarrhea in some people. You should immediately stop using this product and consult your physician.

Can I eat carbs while following the Ketogenic Diet?

Yes, you can eat carbohydrates while on the Ketogenic Diet. However, keep them to a minimum. Focus instead on high-fiber vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, as well as celery, tomatoes, onions and celery. These vegetables will not only fill you up, but also provide nutrition.

Be sure to eat plenty avocados, nuts and seeds, as well as olive oil and coconut oil. These foods are high-in saturated fats which are essential for ketosis.

How to Get African Mango Extract

Mango extract is simple to make. Simply cut open a fresh ripe mandarin and scoop out the flesh to a blender container. Blend until smooth.

You may also strain the pulp if you want a finer consistency. Store in a cool dark place.

You can freeze the pulp for future use. This will save you money on buying another batch each mango season.

Are there natural alternatives for prescription drugs like Phentermine to suppress your appetite?

Green tea extract is the most popular option for those who want to lose weight and avoid side effects from prescription diet pills. Green tea extract is rich in caffeine, which stimulates metabolism and epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), that helps to burn fat through thermogenesis.

Green tea can help you lose weight, but only if you follow a controlled diet.

Another option is to supplement with L-Carnitine. This amino acid boosts energy levels and promotes muscular growth. You will need to eat regular meals because this amino acid doesn't curb appetite.

How can I lose weight in 7 days at home?

You should eat fewer calories, drink plenty of water, and exercise regularly. It's as simple as that! You may be tempted to skip meals, but this is not recommended. You will feel hungry later, so skip meals.

Do not starve yourself. You should keep track of the calories you eat and slowly increase it. For instance, if you usually eat 2,000 calories every day, start by increasing that number by 500 calories per day. This will result in an increase of 1,500 calories in your daily life.

How To

Potential benefits of African mango extract

African Mango Oils have long been used as a natural remedy for many ailments, including cancer. These extracts date back as far as ancient Egypt. They were used to treat wounds, diabetes, and stop bleeding.

Researchers at the University of Nigeria found that African mango extracts contained certain compounds. These include tannins, flavonoids (Vit C), Vitamin C, Vitamin C, Vitamin C, flavonoids. polyphenols. carotenoids. and saponin. They help to prevent blood from clotting, fight freeradicals, improve liver function, lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, promote cell proliferation, boost immune system, increase energy, and raise energy.

  1. Cancer treatment. The environment is responsible for more than half of all cancers in the world. This includes smoking, alcohol consumption, unhealthy eating habits, and lack of exercise. It is important to discover ways to prevent cancer. Numerous studies have shown that antioxidants in foods such as bananas blueberries, tomatoes and oranges can prevent cancer.
  2. Antioxidants neutralize harmful substances known as "free radicals," which can damage cells and cause genetic mutations. Research shows that African mango extracts can slow down, or even reverse, the growth of cancerous cells in mice. One study demonstrated that African mango extracts can stop the growth and spread of colon tumor cells in mice. This was in vitro, using cells grown in laboratory dishes. Another study revealed that African Mango Extract prevented the growth of prostate cancer cells (in living animals) in vivo by inhibiting their metabolism. These findings suggest that this product could potentially help treat some types of cancer.
  3. Prevention of cancer. A study published by the National Institutes of Health that found African mango extracts prevent breast-cancer development was published recently. The active ingredients found in African mangoes are believed to block the production of estrogen, which is known to increase breast cancer risk.
  4. Inflammation Reduction. White blood cells produce chemicals that attack foreign tissues, which causes inflammation. Inflammation can happen when there is injury, infection, and irritation. Chronic inflammation can cause some diseases like arthritis and asthma. Research has shown that African mango extracts may reduce inflammation and the severity of many conditions.
  5. Improve Liver Function. The liver is an essential organ in our bodies. It is responsible for digestion, detoxification and protein synthesis. Healthy livers are also responsible for maintaining internal processes such water balance, sugar level, red blood cell count, and water levels. Research has shown that African mango extracts can help to regenerate liver cells damaged by drugs or toxins. People who drink large quantities of African mango juice may feel less tired after eating.
  6. Blood Pressure Lowering. According to the American Heart Association, adults should aim for a normal blood pressure reading of 120/80 to 140/90mmHg. High blood pressure damages arteries and increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Scientists from the University of California-Davis investigated the effects of African mango extracts on rats with high blood pressure. Their research demonstrated that African mango extracts significantly lower blood pressure.
  7. Bone Building The nutrients in African mango are good for bone building. The University of Alabama School of Medicine conducted a double-blind placebo-controlled study that found supplementation with 500mg of vitamin C3 and 2g of calcium daily along with 3 grams of potassium citrate significantly increased bone density. The potassium citrate was equal to about 10 ounces fresh African mango juice per day.
  8. Other Benefits African mango extract promotes skin health and blood circulation, which in turn improves the skin's overall health. It stimulates collagen production, making the skin look younger and smoother. In addition, African mango promotes hair growth and prevents premature graying of hair. It aids weight loss by increasing fat metabolism.

23 Tips for a Healthier Thanksgiving

Ready or not, here they come…

In case you’ve missed the glaring lights and blaring commercials, it’s official… the holidays are upon us. And Thanksgiving, with all of its food-based traditions, promises to put your weight loss willpower to the test.

According to research from the Calorie Control Council, a typical traditional Thanksgiving dinner can clock in at 3,000 calories. Add some apps and drinks, and you’ve got yourself a 4,500 calorie meal—that’s more than two times the average daily intake. This same source reports that the average Thanksgiving enthusiast may fill up on close to 230 grams of fat—the fat equivalent of three sticks of butter.

But with a little planning, you can make it through Thanksgiving without putting on more stuffing. Check out these 23 simple strategies that are sure to help keep the “trim” in your turkey day:

1. Don’t skip breakfast
Don’t “save space” for dinner. We all know what happens when we don’t eat all day—we become ravenous and are more likely to gobble up everything in sight. Plus, when it comes to weight loss, the old adage that breakfast is the most important meal of the day may very well hold true. In a study in the journal Obesity, overweight people who were dieting and ate more calories for breakfast than dinner lost more weight compared with subjects who ate larger evening meals. Make sure to opt for a morning meal that’s high in protein like an egg white veggie omelet or non-fat Greek yogurt with fresh fruit—this will help keep you feeling fuller as you head into the potential diet dark hole that is Thanksgiving dinner.

2. Work in a workout
Be sure to get a good sweat session in before you dive in to dinner. A study published in 2009 in the American Journal of Physiology revealed that vigorous exercise may suppress a key hunger hormone for up to 30 minutes after workouts and can increase the levels of an appetite-suppressing hormone for as long as three hours after exercise. Not convinced? Get this: A 2013 study published in the journal Neuroreport revealed that participants who exercised craved healthier foods, like fiber-rich beans and veggies rather than those packed with refined sugar (think cookies and cakes). The researchers discovered that physical exercise may be linked to reduced activity in the food-responsive reward regions in the brain which, in turn, are linked to a reduced preference for unhealthy high-calorie foods.

3. Don’t pick as you prep
A tiny taste here, a tiny taste there. Before you know it, you’ve consumed a meal’s worth of calories. You don’t normally pick all day long, right? So don’t start now. Eat your regular meals at your regularly scheduled times and limit your splurges to small selections at dinner time. Your waistline will thank you.

4. Bring a helping of healthy
Volunteer to bring a side of roasted veggies, fresh salad or fruit tray, so that if all else fails, you’ve got one healthy option to pile on your plate! Try these delicious Brussels Sprouts with Apple—they’re simple to make and totally guilt-free.

5. Drink water before and during your meal
In a study published in 2015 in the journal Obesity (Silver Springs), participants who drank 500 milliliters of water 30 minutes before a meal lost more weight than those who did not drink up prior to chowing down. But don’t limit your liquids to the time before your meal. Sip water throughout your Thanksgiving meals to keep you feeling fuller and slow down your gobbling.

6. Nix the rolls
Pass on the bread bowl and you could save yourself anywhere from 100 to 200 calories, plus the 100 calories in the butter you would have slathered all over it. With so much food at your disposal, we doubt you’ll even miss it.

7. Use a smaller plate
A study published in 2015 in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews revealed that when people—even the health conscious—were given larger plates, they consistently consumed more food than those using smaller plates. The same held true for non-alcoholic beverages consumption—the larger the glass, the bigger the gulps. Opt for a smaller plate at dinner and chances are good you’ll stick to smaller portions.

8. Veg out

Time and again research confirms that high-fiber foods, which provide volume in the body and take longer to digest, help you feel full longer—on fewer calories. Help yourself to high-fiber foods like fruits and veggies, whole grains and bean dishes. Just don’t fall for dishes drenched in butter or creamy sauces, which can be loaded with calories and fat.

9. Fine-tune your turkey selection
For many, it just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without the taste of turkey. Just make sure to opt for white meat, and don’t eat the skin. With this simple swap, you could save 7 grams of fat and over 50 calories (for a serving size that’s roughly equivalent to a deck of cards). Might not sound like a lot, but tiny trimmings like these can pile up quickly.

10. Put your fork down between bites
Based on a study published in 2014 in the Journal of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, increasing the number of chews during meals can extend the duration of those meals, reduce the speed at which people eat, and lead to less food consumed. Make an effort to put down your fork and chew your food several times before diving in to your next bite. Bonus: You’ll actually taste all of those fabulous flavors when you slow down!

11. Be a ‘Chatty Cathy’
The more you talk, the slower you’ll eat. The slower you eat, the better the chances of your body signaling it is full before you overeat. See #10.

12. Be mindful of extras
Between the gravy, butter and creamy dressings, Thanksgiving add-ons can be total fat traps. Try seasoning your food with spices and herbs, and opt for vinegar-based dressings.

13. Don’t drink your calories
A 12-ounce bottle of pumpkin beer is somewhere in the 200 calorie range. A five ounce glass of spiced apple wine can clock in at 271 calories. Think you’ll save tons of calories avoiding alcohol? Not exactly. A 16-ounce glass of apple cider can cost you almost 230 calories. Wash down your meal with water (see #5), sparkling water, tea or coffee instead and your waistline will thank you.

14. Step away from the table
Once you’ve eaten a normal-sized dinner, kindly remove yourself from the table so you don’t start mindlessly munching. Head to another room in the house or better yet, engage in some good old fashioned family fun (see #15 and #16!).

15. Start an active tradition
Holidays are all about traditions, right? Start a new ritual, like a family football game or a group stroll around the neighborhood. Studies have shown that going for a walk instead of hitting the couch, about 15 minutes after a meal may improve digestion and blood sugar control, and will burn some extra calories. Plus, stepping away from the table for a bit may save you from diving into another pile of potatoes.

16. Focus on the fun
Take the focus off of food and put it back where it belongs—on spending quality time with your loved ones. Bring board games or DVDs. Share in a few rounds of post-dinner charades. Or gather up the troops and hit the local soup kitchen to help serve dinner to the less fortunate. Forget the food—there’s fun to be had!

17. Wait 20 minutes before even considering seconds
Stick to this rule of thumb: If you’re still hungry after 20 minutes (the commonly accepted amount of time it takes for your stomach to send your brain the “I’m stuffed” signal), you can go back for seconds.

18. Ask the hard questions before heading back for more
Before hitting the buffet for a second round, ask yourself if you’re really hungry. Sometimes just seeing a large spread can make us eat more. In fact, in a study published in 2005 in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior, when moviegoers were provided stale popcorn in big buckets, they ate 34 percent more than those given the same stale popcorn in smaller tubs. In the case of fresh popcorn, those given large tubs ate almost 50 percent more than those given medium-sized buckets. If you aren’t just being thrown off by a sizable spread, ask yourself: If I could have seconds of just one dish, which would it be? Then opt for that option only.

19. Skip seconds if you plan on doing dessert
Survey the food scene before you dive in for seconds, and map out a strategy. If grandma’s rhubarb pie is on your radar, don’t stuff your face with more stuffing. If you yearn for candy yams year-round, don’t get chummy with the crumb cake. Decide on one or two indulgences you’d like to try ahead of time, and don’t eat everything in sight before you get to them.

20. Don’t be guilted into gobbling
While it’s nice that aunt so-and-so brought her world-famous pie, that doesn’t mean you have to eat it. If you’re going to enjoy foods you might normally avoid, make sure you do the picking. Feel uncomfortable refusing? Tell your aunt you’re too stuffed but you’ll take it to-go. If you’re lucky, she’ll forget, if you’re not so lucky and she piles on the pie, give a loved one your leftovers.

21. Fill up on fruit for dessert
Remember how we told you to bring healthier dishes (see #4)? A fruit tray is a great option. That way, when everyone else is pigging out on apple pie, you can enjoy some fresh apple slices with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

22. Leave the leftovers
If you can get away with it, leave the doggy bag for the other diners. While one day of indulging won’t destroy your diet, several in a row certainly can. Pass on the extra potatoes and remove all temptation tomorrow.

23. Don’t miss the point–family!
We bet that this time next year you won’t even be able to recall what exactly you ate at Thanksgiving this year. The taste of dessert is fleeting; memories with your family are forever. Take this time, when there is no work or school or real life to worry about, and enjoy the time you have with your loved ones. Cherish the company, not the food.

Can African Mango Extract contain Caffeine?

A study was done to determine how much caffeine the average person consumes each day. The results were surprising.

African mango extract also helps increase focus and concentration and improves brain function.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is African Mango Extracted Safe To Use During Pregnancy

Yes, African mango extract is safe to use during pregnancy. It has been safely used by pregnant women before.

However, we recommend consulting your doctor before using this product if you are pregnant.

What is an African mango?

British explorers initially discovered the fruit on an expedition into Africa. It's been grown for centuries in South America, but due to climate change and deforestation, its production is now declining.

The African Mango Project aims to reverse this decline by developing sustainable methods of growing fruit in East Africa.

They are also working towards creating local jobs and improving communities' livelihoods near plantations.

They aim to harvest the first commercial crop within five years.

What can I do to detox my body, lose weight and get rid of it?

Drinking water flushes out toxins. Water is essential for healthy hair and skin. When you are feeling thirsty, drink lots of water throughout the day. Water also aids digestion and flushes excess sodium from your system.

You can drink green tea if you don't want to consume alcohol. Green tea contains catechins, which can help lower fat absorption in your stomach. Caffeine stimulates metabolism.

What herb melts bodyfat?

While dieting isn't an option, it can be done with herbs. Over the years, many have used herbs to accomplish this. There are many herbs that can be used for this purpose, including: Green tea (Ginko Biloba), Ginger root, Ginseng and Hawthorn berry; Milk Thistle seed; Mullein leaf; Rosemary, St John's Wort and Turmeric. Valerian root is also available. Yohimbe bark is another.

Orally, herbal remedies can also be applied topically. They contain nutrients that increase the metabolic rate of the body. These nutrients help speed up the destruction of glycogen stocks and lipids inside the cell walls. The result is the release of free fatty acids into the bloodstream, which can be burned as fuel.

It has been shown that herbal remedies can boost the immune system, and even prevent diseases. They are great for people who do not want to take drugs or have surgery.

Many people use herbs because they know how effective they are. Many people don’t realize the power of these natural substances. Online, online, and in health food shops, herbs can be bought. Most often, one dose can last for several days.

Green tea is a good example of a herb that increases the metabolism rate. Green tea is rich in epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), which boosts activity of enzymes that are responsible for breaking down fats. EGCG also has been shown to increase glucose tolerance. It reduces your risk of developing diabetes.

Ginger root is another example. Ginger root acts as a stimulant. It boosts metabolism and stimulates the gastrointestinal tract. Ginger also helps to eliminate toxins in the digestive tract.

Other herbs that can increase metabolic rate include ginseng and mullein root, licorice roots, mullein leaves, rosemary, turmeric, as well as valerian root.

In most cases, the best way to take herbs is to drink them as teas. This allows active ingredients to be absorbed quickly and efficiently into the bloodstream. You should always take herbs internally under medical supervision. If you prefer to take herbs internally, you should apply them directly to the affected areas. If you do not, they can cause irritation or damage to other areas.

What are some foods that can help you lose belly fat?

Fruits and vegetables are the best foods to lose weight because they are low in calories, high fiber, and have antioxidants that protect cells from damage. They are high in vitamins C, E and K that increase metabolism and boost energy levels.

It is best to eat lean proteins like fish, poultry breast, eggs and beans. These are rich sources of protein and essential amin acids that provide the building blocks for muscle development.

For those who want to lose weight quickly whole grains, such as brown rice or oats, bread, pasta and cereals, are excellent options.

They are very filling, and they give you sustained energy throughout your day.

How can you lose weight in just 7 days at home?

Eat less, drink lots of water, and get active regularly. It's that simple! You may be tempted to skip meals, but this is not recommended. Skipping meals will make you hungry later.

Don't starve yourself, either. Do not forget to track how many calories your body is consuming. Slowly increase your intake. For example, if your average daily intake is 2,000 calories, you can increase this number by 500 calories per days. You'll add 1,500 calories to you daily routine.

For more specific advice, you can consult numerous online resources. Google is a great place to start. Just type in "how to lose weight quickly" and you'll see hundreds of results.

Local libraries might be a good place to start if you prefer to read in person about the topic. They typically offer free weekly seminars where diet experts talk about various topics related to weight loss.

How To

Goji Berries: Side Effects & Health Benefits

Goji berries, one of China's oldest cultivated fruits, are a great example. They are also known for their Chinese plums and wolfberries. They are native to the Himalayas and grow wild throughout Asia. Goji is derived from the Tibetan word gom which means "to increase". In Japan, they're called Kuzuimaki.

Around 300 BC, ancient Chinese literature first mentioned the gojiberry. Although it was primarily used as a food source for many people, some medical uses were also documented. Goji berries have high amounts of antioxidants and vitamins. They contain anthocyanins, carotenoids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, terpenes, and phytosterols. Goji Berries are good for your health because of their anti-aging benefits, immune system support and antioxidant protection, heart disease management, memory improvements, weight loss aids, healthy skin, and diabetes management.

Goji berries are often referred to superfoods due to their nutritional value. Goji berries are rich in vitamin C, betacarotene and iron. They also contain significant amounts of calcium, magnesium, potassium (vitamin B6), protein, riboflavin and thiamine. Because of their similar taste and texture, goji berries can be compared with blueberries. Both goji berries and blueberries contain ellagic acid, a powerful cancer-fighting chemical found in plants, especially nuts and seeds.

Some studies show that goji berries help reduce inflammation, improve blood flow, promote cardiovascular health, protect against certain cancers, and prevent macular degeneration.

Goji berries have been shown to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels while increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels. Study after study has shown that consuming Goji Berries can help lower blood pressure as well as reduce risk factors associated with heart disease.

Goji berries have been shown to be effective in fighting Alzheimer's disease. Another study shows that goji berries might help relieve symptoms of depression. Goji berries may be used by some people to treat their insomnia.

Goji berries can also help maintain a healthy bodyweight. Goji berries can be a great way to boost your metabolism, according to research. Consuming them daily can make you feel fuller for longer.

Because goji berries are so nutritious, many people add them to smoothies, juices, salads, and desserts. They can also be eaten plain as a snack.

Goji berries can cause diarrhea, nausea and vomiting as well as dizziness, headaches, constipation, fatigue, and allergic reaction. Goji berries should not be consumed by pregnant women or those who are nursing.

Consuming goji berries can be dangerous for children, the elderly, and those with low immunity. If you experience adverse side effects after consuming goji berries, discontinue use immediately.

The delicious, creamy sauce is richly spiced (but not spicy), the chicken is plump and juicy, and it’s the perfect family meal. This recipe is great for anyone following Slimming World, Weight Watchers or a calorie controlled diet.

Batch Cook – Storage Information

  • Fridge: Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Reheat: Reheat in the microwave and make sure that you add a splash of water before reheating as otherwise, the sauce will be too thick.
  • Freezer: Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Butter chicken freezes well so you can cook a larger batch, and freeze for an easy and quick dinner option! Just remember to thaw before reheating.

Is this recipe Slimming World friendly?

Absolutely yes! Even though there are 2.5 Syns per serving it is totally worth it to have an authentic tasting curry using butter and cream. Don’t skimp on the ingredients and use those Syns… thats why we have them.

MO_amat_08-1.jpg

But I don’t have a slow cooker?

Many people are scared of slow cooking because they believe it makes far too much food or uses too much electric.

At the moment I am highly recommending this small slow cooker from Crockpot. It is perfect for small households and will fit into small spaces/cupboards. It’s also an absolute bargain on Amazon right now!
