EP148: Should you do not ate exercises if you want to obtain muscular tissue?

Why skipping breakfast is preventing you from gaining muscle…

You are always burning some level of carbs, fat, and protein throughout the day.

Ideally, though, you want to utilize primarily carbohydrates because it’s going to help preserve your muscle mass.

When your body doesn’t have enough carbohydrates and it’s out of glycogen stores (glucose/sugar is your body’s main/favorite source of energy), it will break down muscle as fuel.

(Your body can’t regulate blood sugar with fat; it needs sugar.)

In order to produce carbohydrates (or glucose), amino acids that are stored in muscle are broken down through a process called ‘gluconeogenesis.’

Your body literally breaks down muscle to create fuel!

I actually see this all the time with women who are under-eating or following a low-carb diet.

Their body is basically learning to break down muscle in order to help regulate their blood sugar because they’re not fueling their bodies properly.

These are the women who, even if they’re weight training, don’t ever make any gains. It’s a circular process where they build a little muscle, break it down, build a little more, break it down, etc.

Sometimes, you even see them get flabbier as they train because they just keep putting more and more stress upon their system because their body has to constantly utilize its own resources to try to regulate itself. Oof.

Simply consuming enough carbohydrates can help you build and maintain muscle!

And, of course, you need muscle to help support a higher metabolic rate. If you want to burn more calories and have a better metabolism, you need lots of muscle!

I also noticed that I can lift heavier and perform better at the gym when I consume enough carbs and calories overall.

Frequently Asked Questions

What herb melts body fat?

Although it may not be possible for you to lose weight by dieting, herbs can help you burn calories. Over the years, many people have used herbs to achieve this goal. Some of them include; Green tea, Ginko Biloba, Ginger root, Ginseng, Hawthorn berry, Licorice root, Milk Thistle seed, Mullein leaf, Rosemary, St John's Wort, Turmeric, Valerian Root, and Yohimbe bark.

Herbal remedies can be either taken orally or topically. They provide nutrients that increase metabolic rate. These nutrients increase the rate at which glycogen stores are broken down and lipids within cells. This causes the release in the bloodstream of free fatty oils, which can then used to burn as fuel.

It has been shown that herbal remedies can boost the immune system, and even prevent diseases. They are great for people who do not want to take drugs or have surgery.

Many people are familiar with the benefits of herbs. Many people don’t realize the power of these natural substances. You can find herbs in health food stores, pharmacies, as well as online. A single dose of herbs will usually last several weeks.

Green tea is an example of a herb which increases metabolic rate. Green tea is rich in epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), which boosts activity of enzymes that are responsible for breaking down fats. EGCG has also been shown in studies to improve glucose tolerance. This is a way that EGCG can lower the risk of developing diabetes.

Another example is ginger root. Ginger root is a stimulant. It increases metabolism and stimulates digestive tract. Ginger also helps to eliminate toxins in the digestive tract.

Other herbs that boost the metabolic rate are ginseng, licorice root, mullein leaf, rosemary, turmeric, and valerian root.

The best way to get herbs is to make teas. This allows active ingredients to be absorbed quickly and efficiently into the bloodstream. You should always take herbs internally under medical supervision. If you decide to use herbs externally, ensure that you only apply them to the area. They could cause irritation and damage to other areas.
